Bridgwater twinned with Homberg, in the state of Hesse in 1992. But in fact this twinning came about from the 1979 link up with Sedgemoor district and the Schwalm Eder Kreiss (district) in Germany. This saw 3 Sedgemoors towns twin with German partners from the same area. Bridgwater with Homberg, Burnham with Fritzlar and Cheddar with Felsberg. The link remains strong to this day.
Homberg is a small town in central Germany just off the A4 east west autobahn and a little south of the city of Kassel.
